 Malayalam film, 'Ore Kadal' by director Shyamaprasad, won the audience award at ‘Bollywood and Beyond’, Germany's only festival of Indian cinema. Shyamaprasad won a cash price of 1000 euros and a trophy from Shobha De, author and celebrity socialite, on closing ceremony.
Ore Kadal features Mammootty and Meera Jasmine in lead roles. The movie is based on the Bengali novel ‘Heerak Deepthy'.
The other major films which were competing with ‘Ore Kadal’ were Manish Acharya's "Loins of Punjab", Umesh Kulkarni's "Valu, The Wild Bull" and Jag Mundhra's slick, new film "Shoot at Sight". |
