Best Films

Actor Vijay had worked with his father S.A. Chandrashekar for various projects, but most of them went unfavorable at box office. The film that offered Vijay a greater break was ‘Kadhalukku Mariyadhai’ directed by Fazil. Later, the same combination worked for ‘Kannukul Nilavu’, an offbeat thriller. Though Vijay won best critical acclaims, collections weren’t more in box office. Then he had his father advising him only to gear up with commercial films. Later his films ‘Badhri’, ‘Friends’ and ‘Youth’ were a great hit that happened to be family entertainer. Following them ‘Vaseegara’ and ‘Pudhiya Geethai’ flunked at box office . His breakthrough was ‘Thirumalai’ that turned him from a lovable boy into mass hero. That offered ‘Ghilli’ a grand success.

Working with Prabhu Deva for ‘Pokkiri’, it was the biggest blockbuster in 2007. The duo combo recently joined hands for ‘Villu’ that didn’t do extremely well as ‘Pokkiri’. Similarly, to get him differentiated from mass-hero roles, he hopped with ‘Azhagiya Tamizh Magan’ and ‘Sachin’. Though the film exposed Vijay in different shades, his fans didn’t love these films. His next film is ‘Vettaikaaran’ produced by AVM Productions. Debutant Babu Sivan directs the film and Telugu’s red-hot Anushka pairs up with him.
