 The actor couple Ajith Kumar and Shalini would be appearing in a film based on St.Thomas, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ, who was also present in the last supper of Jesus. The movie is funded by the Catholic Archdiocese of Chennai, Mylapore.
The film’s launch was held on July 3rd at Santhome Basilica compound in Chennai. July 3rd is also the ‘St.Thomas Day’. Tamilnadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi officially launched the 50 crore budget film. Santhome Basilica hosts the St. Thomas’s tomb.
St. Thomas would be a multi-lingual film made in many Indian languages. The film would be shot at various locations like Chennai, Idukki, Munnar and some foreign locations. The movie also featuring Hollywood stars is expected to start production in 2009 and will be released in 2010. Dr.Paulraj Lourdusamy will be the script writer for the movie. |
