Moser Baer happens to delivering the best home entertainment in India and in its venture into sales of movie DVDs and VCDs at lower prices created revolution in the media industry. Having owned the rights of several movies, this corporate house is dipped into problematic situation as K.Ravichandran of Movie Land Company has filed case against them.
The complaint launched by him states that Movie Land acquired the DVD and VCD rights of 12 films produced by Amman Creation from 2001 till the next 99 years. However, it was really disgusting for them as Moser Baer started selling these films including evergreen classics '16 Vayadhinilae', 'Kizhake Pogum Rayil' and many more. This has shored up Movie Land in great disaster since they were facing loss and K.Ravichandran has requested High Court to ban Moser Baer from selling these flicks. Apart from this, he has stated Moser Baer should pay them a huge sum of fine amount.
After verifying the advocacies from both the parties, High Court has passed on the judgment of banning Moser Baer from selling both DVDs and VCDs of these films. But nothing has been finalized about Moser Baer paying fine amount. |
