 Superstar Rajanikant and popular South Indian actress Nayanthara are among the names nominated for the 55th Filmfare awards with respect to Tamil films. Rajanikant is nominated for his role in Sivaji – The Boss and Nayanthara for Billa – 2007.
Other prominent names in the list are Ajit Kumar (Billa - 2007), Vijay (Pokkiri), Sathyaraj (Onbathu Rooboi Nottu), Jyothika (Mozhi), Priyamani (Paruthiveeran), Thamanna (Kalloori), and Archana (‘Onbathu Rooboi Nottu’). Among the actresses, Priyamani has already won the National Award for the best actress for her successful role "Muthazaghu" in the film ‘Paruthiveeran’.
The final list is yet to come. Winners would be decided by a panel consisting of eminent personalities. The Award function is scheduled to be in August in Chennai. |
